Seasonal Highlights:
Arrive Delhi by morning flight and straight drive to Chandigarh, check into your hotel. Time permitting, visit Rock Garden, Sukhna Lake, and drive past impressive Govt. Buildings.
Drive to Shimla, 6900 ft, spread 7 miles along the ridge; it presents substantial evidence of an attempt by the ‘Sahibs’ to build an English town in India. Relics of styles long forgotten in England are still evident here. It is a charming town with an almost palpable British presence manifest in buildings like Christ Church, Neo-Tudor Library Building, the famous Scandal Point, and many cottages. St. Michael’s Cathedral, located just off the Mall, is cruciform in design and has fine stained glass. Visit “The Mall,” take the lift at your own cost to get to Mall Road, the nerve center of Shimla. Take a stroll, explore the shops. Open spaces and enchanting walks present excellent views of mountain ranges.
Drive to Manali through beautiful mountain roads with fantastic scenery. Drive past the Kullu Valley to get to Manali, popularly called the Valley of the Gods because of its mind-blowing scenery. Check into your hotel. Evening time permitting, you may take a walk around your hotel or Mall Road.
Solang Valley: A gorgeous dale, nestled between Beas Kund & Solang village, presents picturesque scenery of snow-clad mountains and glaciers (only during winter). Popularly called Snow Point, it’s a perfect place for skiing, usually from end December to February/March. It’s also a spot for adventure activities like horse riding, paragliding, and skiing, depending on your travel period and local conditions. The valley holds a shrine to Lord Shiva on top of a hill. Later visit Dhoongri Temple, dedicated to the goddess Hadimba. Nearby are the hot-sulfur springs at Vashisht, perched on a steep hill-side below the Temple. Evening time permitting, take a stroll on the Mall Road and pick up famous Kullu Shawls and colorful caps.
Morning drive to Chandigarh. Time permitting, visit famous Sector 17 market for some good shopping.
Morning leave in time for Delhi Airport to connect your onward International flight.
